The choice of the locations by the Foundation, as relevant poles to its activities, reveals the strategy to fit in the territories of greater interest in logistics.

The institute is present in three cities:

- Bologna: crossroads of different routes of communication and location of an important freight village
- Piacenza: where is developing a logistics hub of considerable interest
- Ravenna: location of the most important port of Emilia - Romagna Region

The decision to establish its activities in a city rather than another city, obviously does not mean that the Foundation should neglect other regional territories. ITL is active throughout the Emilia Romagna Region.
